Clothing
If you need it I do have a few beautiful items of clothing available for your baby to use. I have chosen these items to fit in with the type of images I create and should have at least 1 outfit for each age. Bring your own in case you don't find something you like on my rail.
FAQ
When is the best time to photograph a newborn?
A. Usually when baby is under 2 weeks old although it is never too late to photograph your baby. Curled up, sleepy photos are more likely to be achieved when baby is under 2 weeks. As they get older their bones harden and they tend to stretch out more.
What if my baby doesn't sleep at all during the session?
A. It is unlikely but we can usually still get beautiful images. Once they are wrapped they tend to fall asleep.
What if my toddler doesn't cooperate?
A. I have a few tricks up my sleeve but the best is to make it a fun and positive experience for them. They tend to come around eventually.
What equipment do you use?
A. I shoot with a Canon EOSR and various lenses although my favorite lens for newborns is my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM.
Do I have to order prints through you?
A. No, although I do recommend using me for fine art prints so I can control the quality and colours. You may come back later if you decide to order more prints or an album. I can help you with your print selection with wall display guides and make a sample album for you.
When should I schedule my maternity session?
A. Maternity photos are best taken from 32-36 weeks. This session can take place at any location.
Do I get the digital files?
A. Yes! Every package contains a number of digital files. When you select your images they will be delivered in BOTH color and black and white.
Where is the session held?
A. Newborn and maternity sessions are currently held in my small home studio in Constantia or in the comfort of your own home. Outdoor sessions can be anywhere that is not too far and I have a few suggestions depending on the time of year.
